The Basic and Advanced Course are designed simply to set you short term goals as that is what us, as human beings need and these short term goals form part of the overall Mastery of the Complete system. Setting your Goal to become a Master doesn’t mean that you miss the first two, it just gives you manageable chunks in your training journey.

When you set your goal to Master the Art of Wing Chun we as a dedicated Wing Chun Organisation turn your training upside down and teach you the Wing Chun System back to front to compliment your normal Wing Chun classes, you will learn the wooden dummy form, Long pole and knives of the system and taken through the system at a much faster pace.

The Wing Chun Kung Fu Schools Master classes are mini seminars held each week any where around the UK and focuses specifically on the elements of your own Wing Chun System that needs focus and improvement.

The Basic and Advanced Courses are like being a GP who knows a little of everything but is not a practitioner of one specific element, In Wing Chun Terms A Masters student is focused on being that specialist of the art of Wing Chun.

As a Masters Student you will predominately learn the Wing Chun System Backwards with the Higher Level Material Taught First, again the following material/Understanding is just a guideline and should not be taken for fact.

  • Forms: Biu Tse Form (The Third Form of the Wing Chun System)

The student should be able to show back the 8 parts of the Biu Tse Form, Skeleton only and no marked detail is expected, the 8 Parts are as follows:

  1. Double Garn Sao and Thrusting Fingers opening
  2. The Four elbow Directions
  3. The High/Low Garn Sao Position
  4. The Kwon Sao Movement.
  5. The Dom Fak Sao Movement
  6. Biu Sao Movements
  7. The Grab and Hook
  8. The Dip and Balance Control
  • Chum Kiu Form, Phase Four is about the Maintenance of the second Form and demonstrating back POWER, This is the Key point of this form for students now in working towards there 1st Master Qualification, Again there is no Set Requirements that can be written down however improvements over the complete form should be clear as can be seen whether a student has been training this form or not, this is the same for the Siu Nim Tao form and the first form should now be maintained and improved with clear/Sharpe and Precise positions.
  • Sparring Programme 1 – 12,This Period of the students training is to seal the 12 student programmes into your system so you can fluently demonstrate them, each programme has 6 core elements that go with them and you should be able to pull from these elements when requested to do so, please see the fighting programmes page, Technician qualifications under testing is about how to manage your distance, timing and overall; pressure of the situation.
  • Chi Sao Poon Sao Roll: You will not be tested on being able to recite a Chi Sao Routine when working towards your Technician Grade however these Parts 1 through to 8 should be seen with in your 12 fighting programmes .

NOTE, Students working towards there Technician Qualification should be able to start to show the theory of the Wing Chun System through the demonstration of the material requested, it is less about showing a routine or movement like the 12 student grades.

  • Footwork, Can you move? in an appropriate manor without being drawn back to a routine, that’s all you need to show with your feet. The emphasis here is can you demonstrate the five rules of Sparring/Fighting

1) Do not Move unnecessarily

2) Punch and Leave your Movement in Place

3) Apply Pressure

4) Reset your position

Please note that as a Dedicated Wing Chun organisation we have no set requirements as to what a student can learn and when they can learn it, we are hear to teach the complete Wing Chun System to everyone. We do however understand what is best for different types of students and what should and should not be learnt based on a students perspective or understanding of what they want to learn and then reasons for learning it, we will always suggest and guide our students to the appropriate course for them and look to Motivate and energize students to become a Master of the Wing Chun System.
